![]() Our official company name is Skip White Performance. We have no other eBay names, nor are we associated with any other company regardless of the similarity in the name or location. There is only one "Skip White." We are the original premier eBay seller under this name since approximately 2003. These other sellers have capitalized on our name as we see it, and many customers searching for us will inadvertently find them, thinking we are one in the same company. You may have noticed other sellers using a similar name offering similar products. The Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM cams are just rebranded and overpriced generic cams. Our eBay user id is: skipwhite, and our eBay store name is whiteperformance1. I'm not a fan of the low priced generic cams from Summit, Elgin, Speed-Pro and others. Sad to say but I'm starting to like the looks of the older Isky Mega cams, Competition Cams High Energy and Magnum cams, Crane Energizer cams, and Crower Beast series cams. There's been an awfully big push toward the retrofit hydraulic roller or solid roller cams on older engines because of the combined situations. Still when it comes to FLT tappet stuff I'm not too sure I'd go with a Lunati Voodoo, CompCams XTreme, or Crane Z-Cam because of the manufacturing and quality of the materials that's been out there for the last few years. Higher priced specialty oils from Brad Pen and Joe Gibbs are what you want to use on an aggressive FLT tappet cam these days. Lots of people switched to diesel oils because of it but those were changed a few years ago and are now just as bad. You do know you're going to have to use a higher priced oil right? All of the good standard oils for flat tappet cams have had their formula changed so that they are no longer good for an aggressive aftermarket flt tappet cam. ![]() ![]() Some pistons can leave the piston top way down in the hole and greatly lower your compression and make for a high priced turd. With any piston watch out for the installed height. Low cost though, I don't know about that one. A good turbo piston top doesn't look like your average dished piston and can help promote flow while keeping the chances of detonation down with smoother edges. I might opt for the 64cc head and try to find a turbo piston that doesn't have a very deep dish. ![]()
